The villa Casa de la Rau was built by local people of Moeciu using traditional building techniques. This means the walls are made of solid wooden beams with pine boards (lambriu) and the roof being of wooden tiles. It comprises 3 double rooms and has a modern electrical installation and gas central heating system.
Facilities and services at Casa de la Rau Pension in Moeciu
The kitchen is modern, built by a local carpenter, and with a useful range of appliances. There is a lot of pine furniture in the house built by local carpenters, and many rugs made in the valley and a few from other areas. The lounge is large enough for groups of around 10, equipped with comfortable furniture for when not in use as a practical space. As well as comfortable seating, the lounge has a music centre and satellite TV set.
Accommodation at Casa de la Rau Guest house
"Casa de la Rau" Guesthouse will comfortably shelter seven people in three bedrooms. Most of the bookings are for the whole house, but the owner takes individual room bookings for a minimum of two nights of accommodation if they are at home. The rooms and house are usually rented on a self catering basis, with towels and bedding provided. Food can be provided by prior arrangement. Whole house self catering for 7 people: 100 Euro/ night & with breakfast provided for 7 people: 128 Euro/night.
Some facts about Cheia Village of Moeciu, Brasov
Cheia Village is a small collection of houses about half way up the valley. Cheia means gorge and the village sits in a wider break between two short sections of a narrow and steeply sided gorge. Follow the Brasov-Pitesti road, through Bran to Moeciu de Jos. Here turn left to Moieciu de Sus in the centre of the village (main junction with shops each side), and follow the road up the valley to Cheia. |
